THE MAKING OF TIDES

Growing up in Southern California I spent most of my time at the beach and in the ocean. The ocean has always been a blissful escape for me. I have been fortunate enough to swim in the Pacific, Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Gulf of Mexico. For a long time I have been fascinated by the way light interacts with water. How it dances across the surface, scattering and sparkling to create a rainbow of hues, and how the color changes as the day goes on. This series embodies my love of the ocean, obsession with color, and my fascination with light. Currently there are three pieces in Tides with more to come.

Key West

Inspired by an adventure I had in Key West, FL. In this Tide I wanted to capture the crystal clear teal waters of the Gulf of Mexico during mid-day. Below are detail, in progress, and inspirational photographs I took.
